The European Meetings and Events Conference is MPI's principal annual educational event in Europe, traditionally attracting 500 meeting planners and suppliers. The event, which will take place just days prior to IMEX 2008, from 18–20 April 2008, is expected to draw record attendance as MPI members will be able to save costs by attending both events in one trip.

The event is being sponsored by a number of international companies with a keen interest in the events & meetings industry. Key factors in the selection of London as The MPI European Meetings and Events Conference 2008 host destination were the frequency of flights and easy accessibility the UK capital can provide. ExCeL London, the largest convention centre in the city, will be the main venue for the event.
